WINTER MAGIC Haiku bas 2015Hi, Friends.

Wishing you all a magical week whatever your weather or season…

Winter is still ruling at ‘The Farmstead’ here in Central Maine, but spring is sure to have its way before long. Meanwhile, we’ll revel in the beauty of a fresh fallen snow.

  1. Can’t wait until spring! Miss seeing the flowers.
Only love when the snow has just fallen and all is white and pure. Another few inches today but soon it will be melting and just a memory. Nice to stop by and chat, Bette. Best wishes & hugs!

    • Remarkable how a fresh-fallen show brings magic to our days… We’ve been blessed with another 8 inches so far… BUT, it will soon melt away and we’ll be bouncing into spring! Thanks for stopping by, my dear New England neighbor and friend. May your week be magical with or without more of those crystals from the clouds! ❤

  2. Bette, this is beautiful, beautiful. We’ve escaped snow, so far this year, for the first time ever. I kept hoping for a chance to take winter pictures. But on Facebook I see some of my Canadian friends literally buried in it. So I’ll count my blessings instead.

  3. Oh, that’s lovely. We could do with some of the white stuff instead of all the rain we’re getting.

    • Fresh snow always inspires, me, Cathy. Hope you’ll get to enjoy a bit of its magic before the season ends. We’ve got so much snow and so much COLD this winter, most of us New Englanders can’t wait for a slow melt (don’t want flooding) and then the gentle spring rains. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit. Have a magical day! 🙂

  5. Thank you for the read and your gracious comment, John. We spent nearly two decades in Southern Maine in the mid-70s and 80s and raised our children twelve miles from Kennebunk. I still love the area and hold fond memories of the Colony, the Wedding Cake House, The Old Grist Mill and drives along the winding shore road. When family and friends from ‘away’ came to visit in summer, a day trip to Kennebunkport was sure to be on the agenda. Thanks for giving me an extra smile today as I recall special memories. Have a great day, my friend! 🙂

  8. Beautiful poem. I love the snow, but this cold! ugh, if only my kitchen drain pipe was not frozen!

    • Hi, Barbara. Thanks for the note. Oh, no…frozen pipes is not part of the magic. We’re in for well below zero for the next few weeks. Stay warm (inside and out) and well! 🙂

  9. Lovely!
We finally got a nice snow cover – about 18 inches. Thanks for sharing; for awhile, I thought you New Englanders were hogging it all. 😀 😀 😀

  10. This time of year is always frustrating. We are so ready for spring, but winter isn’t quite ready to let go. Not yet. But I keep looking at the calendar and I see spring on the schedule, now less than a month way. You just reminded me, again, that it will come. It always comes.

    • Nothing like a fresh-fallen snow to enchant and inspire. But, I think we’ve had enough! Today was near 30 degrees and sunny. Glad you enjoyed a trip to the enchanted ‘Farmstead’, Noelle. Have a great day! 🙂
