Apple Blossom HAIKU bas 2015Spring has sprung and apple trees are shouting about it here at the farmstead in Central Maine. After a long winter’s nap their branches are bursting into bloom. With temperatures in the 70s and sunshine in full array (Oh, but rain predicted to be on its way…), this writer is shouting about it too. Inspired by another of nature’s wonders ~ Bette A.     Beautiful Haiku, expressing such vivid imagery. Spring is taking its time reaching New York.It’s cold and windy today–the poor birds and plants don’t know what to do.

      Thanks, Michelle. Our Spring has been up and down too. Yesterday and today, rain and 40 degrees after several days of 70 temps. We’ll be dancing and singing when the sun’s magic returns to inspire us. Today, I’ll try to get some indoor tasks check off my to-to-list. Yes, a perfect day to spruce up the house. You have a beautiful day too! 🙂 ❤

      Thank you, Joe. The weather this week has been glorious. Blossoms, bees and butterflies are celebrating the season. Rain coming, but we all need some of that precious precipitation too. Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

    Bette, I’m shouting out with you about the beauty of Spring! 😀 Your writing is infectious and mirror my own delight in this lovely season. I love the tender blossom this time of year and our cherry tree has just about finished its burst of wakening, with little cherries starting to form. I have now transformed it into a CD tree – hanging old redundant ones in the hope of keeping the birds away. Wishing you a peaceful and joyful weekend, Bette.

      Hi, Annika. Thanks for the tip to hang old CDs to keep the birds away. We have cherries, pears, apples and plums–plenty to share with our fine feathered friends, but there are times when we must say ‘enough’. I freeze, can and make jams. We also have several crab apple trees that keep the winter birds’ bellies full till the next spring. Thank you for your kind words, dear friend. Have a wonderful day! 🙂 ❤

        Your garden sounds so dreamy and heavenly with all the fruit trees. Home-made jams are the best and although many relatives do this I have never tried! Not enough fruit in the garden is one major problem!😀

    I was awed this spring when all of our azaleas bloomed at once and we had tens of butterflies flitting around in our pool area! You will have pink and white “snow” with the rain! We have a pink snowfall each year when the weeping cherry tree drops its petals…

    I am inspired by the number of bees I see in my wildflowers. This is the first resurgence of bees in a few years. Now, if only we’d see a few bats again …
