A writer inspired by nature and human nature

Here at “The Farmstead” in Central Maine, the splendor never ends as God blesses  us with his bountiful beauty every day—season to season. This evening’s sunset inspired me to pen “October Sunset,” a haiku. What’s inspiring you today? —Bette A. Stevens, Maine author

October Sunset

Haiku by Bette A. Stevens

Ominous skies view
Evening extravaganza
Mourning daylight’s end

Twilight promises
Reassure restless critics
Splendor never ends

  1. Gorgeous verses–sunsets affect me deeply, too. I think humans are drawn to transitions. 🙂

  14. I has been raining for two days with another one to go. We need the water, but it’s hard to go out and take pictures. And yet … the rain is also beautiful 🙂

    • Ditto all around from this end…we’ve had about 3 inches over two days (which thankfully, wasn’t transformed into 3 feet of snow). Temps in 60s, so who knows, we may have more days to celebrate the sun before the leaves are gone. It’s been a glorious fall! ❤ xo

In the early morning sunlight I delighted in wandering the garden, surprised at the flowers still blooming…now off to the coast for a walk and pub lunch with the family as it’s school holidays- looking forward to a little break! Hugs 😀❤️
