Day Two Quote: –
If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in. ~Rachel Carson

Wonderful quote, Bette and so true! This reminds me of a little boy staying with us, the last hours we’d been getting him dressed to look like an old man so he could surprise his parents. He looked grand, quite the part and expectantly presented himself to his parents when they arrived. Goodnaturesly they patted his shoulder, said he’d dressed up and walked on. He was crushed … wanting them to continue the mystery. Getting changed he said ‘they’d lost the magic’! I think the boy did a bit too that day.

I recall the story of a little girl running in and out of the house to show her mother every little thing she’d discovered, such as a flower or pebble. A woman who was visiting remarked at the patience of her friend. The mother said, “I brought her into this world; the least I can do is let her show it to me.” Beautiful post, Bette ❤️
