The purpose of life is not to be happy.
It is to be useful, to be honorable,
to be compassionate,
to have it make some difference

you have lived and lived well.

“Hope is a thing with feathers that perches on the soul…” one of my favorite lines from Emily Dickinson ~ Bette A. Stevens http://www.4writersandreaders.com

The Gift

though time is draining from the clock
and your walk, that was confident and quick,

~Mary Oliver
Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp. ~Psalm 147:7 ✝

~Leonard Cohen
Nourish beginnings,
let us nourish beginnings.
Not all things are blest,
but the seeds of all things are blest.
The blessing is in the seed.
~Muriel Rukeyser
Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. ~John 12:24 ✝
