As writers, we know the importance reading has made in our lives. That is why holidays that support reading for kids are a big deal with me–well, that and the fact I’m also a teacher! In the United States, we celebrate Read Across America Day annually on March 2. This coincides with the birthday of Dr. Seuss, one of the most beloved and iconic children’s writers and perfect for any read-aloud.

Welcome to my home… This is where I do my blogging! It’s a quiet, peaceful, simple place where my husband Dan and I enjoy our retirement. When I’m not writing (or blogging), gardening or taking trips to the coast, I’m helping with the renovation of our 37-acre farmstead. It’s a great place to do “all of the things we love to do”!

I’m a Maine author/illustrator who loves nature and literature. As a former teacher, I’ll have tips on improving literacy among our youth, reading tips and recommendations for all ages, features from other authors, writing tips and some questions and polls to get everyone actively involved in Living, Loving and Learning through Literature! As a writer, I’ll have my books, short stories and poetry to share. I’m brand new to the world of blogging… but its potential is enormous for keeping us all connected.
