Christmas Eve Pondering

A Poem by Bette A. Stevens

The last cookie is baked, the final gift wrapped.

Christmas Eve is upon us…

It’s time to relax.

Christmas music is gently reminding us why

Lord Jesus, the Christ Child…

Came down from on high.

He came as a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Lived among us on earth…

God’s gift to bestow.

Loving God, loving others —Christ bought with his life

He epitomized love…

Not anger or strife.

God’s love is a precious gift we’re to share

Not with just folks we know…

But with those everywhere.

Wishing you Peace, Love & Joy—Gifts of The Christ Child—at Christmas and always… ~ Bette A. Stevens, Maine author http://www.4writersandreaders.com

Fresh Fallen Crystals —Poem by Bette A. Stevens

A Season of Wonder

Early December at the Farmstead in Central Maine—finally have a covering of snow and temperatures cold enough to keep the white magic around for a while. Conifer branches adorned in winter’s white called out to this writer: “Capture a photo, we’re all spruced up in our new attire!” from near the barn’s entrance. I simply had to pen their remembrance in a poem—
Fresh Fallen Crystals.

Wishing you all a Season of Wonder!

Kim Talks Books

You know I am a sucker for novels set during Christmas. I love diving into a fun holiday read about people falling in and out of love, especially when there’s lots of snow, Christmas trees and good cheer involved. So, since the department stores here in Stockholm have already started decorating for Christmas, that means I can tell you what books are on my Christmas Reading List. Are you ready?

Just for Christmas coverJust for Christmas by Scarlett Bailey – Scarlett Bailey’s holiday stories are always high on my Christmas reading list. I love how she paints such great pictures of characters in need of a little Christmas joy and what helps them get their holiday mojo back. I am halfway through Just for Christmas and it’s a fun story about Alex, who runs away from Edinburgh to Cornwall to nurse a broken heart and start over, and what happens when the town decides she…
