My Grandma (Elizabeth Babcock) is one of the woman who had a positive and long-lasting influence on my life. She left us many years ago, but her memory lives on in all of us whose lives she touched. My tribute to a great woman and a wonderful grandmother:

Beautiful, Bette. My Grandma was one of those people that everyone said “was the best woman they ever knew”. I wish I was more like her. beebee

Thanks, beebbee. I know you’ll follow right in her footsteps… Congratulations on your new granddaughter! We were blessed with two great-grands in 2013. Little Troy was standing on his own today and Olivia is two months old. So fortunate that we’ve both had shining examples to follow. Blessings to your and yours, Bette

This gets me to thinking about my own grandmothers. It makes me nostalgic and sad that I lost my favorite when I was so young. Thank you for sharing this and bringing back to my mind the memories of my grandmother and how wonderful she was.

I did not get to know my grandparents, all were passed before I was born, but I am trying to make many memories for my grand children and I hope I can be as successful as your grandmother Bette. What a wonderful tribute.

Every year when January rolls around, I can’t help but relive all of the wonderful memories that Grandma made for me. It’s her birthday month… I wrote the poem last year and decided this year to post it every year, as a tribute to Grandma and a reminder to me of the grandma I hope to be. Thanks so much for helping me celebrate. Happy grandparenting to you, Patricia. I know that Michaella has a very special grandma, too–YOU! Blessings, Bette

I believe I’ve got a perfect response to your topic about your GrandMa.
I love to write Flash Fiction this is how responded to Lillie McFerrin prompt word of SILVER on December 19, 2013:
Well here we are another Thursday and another prompt word from Lillie for us to create our own little five sentence fiction response. This week she’s given us SILVER, and I feel like taking a somewhat different approach to what many of us will consider doing.
TO OUR GRANDPARENTS
As we enter our senior years what do we as a grandparent remember of the ones we had? We remember the home cook meals our grandmothers made for all of our family gatherings. We remember how we could always go to them to get the things our parents wouldn’t get for us. They were our second home when our parents wanted to go on vacation go they could get away from us spoiled brats for a week or more. But most all we can remember the twinkle in their eyes and the SILVER in their hair.
TO ALL THOSE READING THIS: I don’t want to take away any attention from Bette’s above post, so if anyone would care to respond to what I’ve written here, please leave your comments on one of my blog sites:
