I don’t think that this can be repeated enough. References to fairy tales, fables, and nursery rhymes are peppered throughout adult conversation through-out their lives; i.e. “dumb as a fox”, “slow as a turtle”, he’s no “prince charming” etc.

Fairy tales, fables and nursery rhymes were among my favorites as a child. They definitely influence my own writing of children’s books. No better way for parents, grandparents and other caring adults to interact with the kids in their lives…Thanks, Laurie. Bette A. Stevens

Very true Betty, I always read stories to my son. It’s a great way to spend some quality time, interact and give a child grounding in the lifelong pleasure that is reading.
