How or why did you decide to become a writer?
I had been a business writer for many year.  However, when making a career change and getting my teaching degree,  I started writing for children. While taking a course on Creative Writing,  I realized that I had lots of stories to tell. Some were my own, some were from the experiences of others.  I felt that my stories could impact lives in a positive way and inspire children and adults to be all they could be and help others along the way.

Do you write under a pen name?  If ‘yes’, what is your pen name?
Bette A. Stevens is my name. I haven’t written under a pen name to date, but have considered it for some of my book ideas that are brewing.
