A writer inspired by nature and human nature

Dusting of snow in the Northeast today. Fire’s ablaze and I’m hibernating for the day… — Bette A. Stevens http://www.4writersandreaders.com

Who I am

white-trees-2.jpgThe weather today

Is full of leaves

Crunching as

Feet walk through them

The ground covered

With wetness

The air filled with musty

All is cozy inside

Without seeing

Or recognizing

The signs of

Old man winter

Is sneaking upon us

The weatherman

Just posted a

Notice to me

Starting Monday

Night a chance of

Six inches plus

Of that white stuff

You know it is called

Snow

Get your shelves

Stocked on toilet paper

And milk, get diapers

And bread, for winter

Has decided whether

I like it or not

To pay me a visit

Wait, what is that?

You want me to come

Back and visit?

I’m sorry friends

I must go for my

Bed covers are

Calling to come

Hibernate until Spring.

  2. To be this is a disaster. When I heard the weatherman say this week the temperatures will dip and possible snow, I thought about my daughter’s wedding on the 15th and the possible confusion. Hope all goes well for her and for you. Blessings. Kharis Macey

    • How exciting, your daughter’s wedding just a few days away. I’ll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, this front will move on and her day will be perfect. Blessings to you and yours, too! Bette

  3. Good for you! I’d be out exploring, but I’ve got a chapter to write for PURE TRASH, The Novel’s draft today. It’s 33 degrees; but I’m toasty. The wood stove sits less than two yards from my desk. Have a fun week out in the weather!

  4. I’m not hibernating. I’m actively in denial.
