“The sun just touched the morning;
The morning, happy thing,
Supposed that he had come to dwell,
And life would be all spring.”

  3. Thanks for this beautiful piece, Bette, by a great poet!!

  4. Beautiful, by one of my favorite poets.

  5. Since I graduated from Mt. Holyoke, i lived with Emily Dickenson for a while. What an incredible woman – and how much more if she had been born a century later!

    • I too love Emily! So often I think on these beautiful words (may not be exact) she penned: “Hope is a thing with feathers; that purchases on the soul; and sings the songs with the words; and never stops at all.” ❤

      • Wow! you picked my favorite Dickinson words!

      • Oops, just noticed a typo–perches/not purchases… Must have been in outer space when I typed that one. It’s my favorite too! Have a fantastic Fourth, Noelle. We’re at home enjoying a day of R & R. Blessings! ❤
