A Season of Wonder

Early December at the Farmstead in Central Maine—finally have a covering of snow and temperatures cold enough to keep the white magic around for a while. Conifer branches adorned in winter’s white called out to this writer: “Capture a photo, we’re all spruced up in our new attire!” from near the barn’s entrance. I simply had to pen their remembrance in a poem—
Fresh Fallen Crystals.

Wishing you all a Season of Wonder!

I agree with Bernadette, Bette – this would be a lovely Christmas Card. Love the imagery of “fresh fallen crystals” — nothing here by rain yet. ::sigh::

Lovely 😊 We are forecast snow this weekend, we rarely have it and I wonder if it will be the come and melt away kind or the stick-around kind?

If nature were a being, it would grin real wide. You capture it so beautifully, it’s glorious. I do hope you’ll read my work too sometime. Much love.

Ahh…lovely atmospheric photo and poem, Bette, I feel all Christmassy now! 🌲🌲It really does resemble crystals when the temperatures fall so low, then heartstopping beautiful as the sun light falls on them and all glitters. Here it is unseasonally warm with 12 degrees centigrade! I’m confused! 😀

Thank you, Annika. The weather here has been crazy warm until this past week, now we’re feeding a blazing wood fire to keep the chill away. High of 29 F today with temps dropping rapidly and a polar vortex on its way. Those white crystals make it all worthwhile. Have a wonder-filled weekend and a Very Merry Christmas! ❤

Positively lovely, Bette! We have yet to see any snow in my area, and although I prefer warm weather, there is something magical about the first snowfall of the year…especially when it happens in December. Thanks for the beautiful holiday cheer. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas!

Thanks, Mae. I prefer warmer weather too, but here is always magic in air with a fresh fallen snow. It’s all that comes along with it that I could do without. So glad to stopped by to chat. Wishing your and yours a Very Merry Christmas and abundant blessings the New Year through! 🙂

That’s absolutely love, the poem and the picture. It’s still pretty warm down hair. Colder at night, but warms up to the mid forties by day. We are, however, supposed to get whacked by the polar vortex next week. I guess we’ll see 🙂

Hi, Marilyn. Our first snow has survived above freezing temps today. We’re in line for a visit from the polar vortrex too. As much as I dislike Winter’s extended visit, new fallen snow remains a magical muse–time to get reading and writing… Thanks for stopping! 🙂 ❤
