What a great book premise! I have a question… do you think it’s harder to write about a time period that is still in living memory, or to write about a period that’s further back in the historical timeline?
I’m not sure of the answer as a historical fiction writer myself, just curious what you think.

Hi, Jen. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit. For me, it’s easier to write about the past, even though it requires more research to give the story authenticity of an era or period. Historical fiction has always been one of my favorite genres to read and as writers, we can use it to present messages and themes that remain universal. What draws you to historical fiction?

Really LOVE the book. It’s so original, so American, and I suspect and eye-opener to the many people who think poverty is somehow not a rural New England thing.
