It’s official—Monarch butterflies are on the Endangered Threatened Species “Red List.”
Their status was announced by the International Union for Conservation of Nature last week, but we still await a status change from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Some of the largest contributing factors include significant loss of milkweed habitat and growth, as well as an increased use of herbicides, pesticides, and other chemicals.
Now for the good news. As said by John F. Kennedy, “One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.”

Concentrating on family… Milkweed is in bloom, but I haven’t spotted any monarchs yet. Weather has been extremely dry this year. Also, have relatives visiting at intervals. Thanks for checking in on me, Jim, 🐛🦋 Wishing you and Ruth a blessed and beautiful summer, my friend!

Thanks for the note, Joe. An online fellow by the name of Stan made this video; by the time I tried to contact him to revise the cover, his original video on Youtube was no longer available and I had no way to contact him. Fortunately, my daughter had saved his video to Youtube for me, so I still had access. I also wanted book trailers for THE TANGRAM ZOO… and DOG BONE SOUP, so I ended up making my own using Animoto.Was pleased with the results. Have a great weekend and good luck with video production! 🙂 xo
