I thank God for the ways of Creation–
For eyes to see Creation’s beauty,
For ears to hear Creation’s sounds,
For a tongue to taste Creation’s savory delights,
For a nose to smell Creation’s sweet aromas,
For arms to embrace others with a loving touch,
For a heart to understand the ways of the Lord,
For words to praise the triune God, Maker of heaven and earth.
~Edited and adapted from a Native American prayer

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving. ~Psalm 69:30   ✝

Freedom_from_WantThis beautifully written book about Norman Rockwell, the artist and his work focuses on the non-white children and adults who are his legacy. The book will be an eye-opener for many readers despite the fact that anyone who goes to the Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts — or seriously looks at Rockwell’s body of work — can see that Norman Rockwell never portrayed a purely white America. This country’s non-white population have always been there, even when he had to more or less sneak them in by the side door.

These people — Black people, Native Americans and others — are not missing. Rockwell was passionate about civil rights and integration. It was his life’s cause, near and dear to his heart. It is merely that the non-white peoples in his pictures have been overlooked, become invisible via a form of highly effective selective vision. Despite their presence, many people…

MEET THE AUTHOR: Interview with J.E. Spina

The Owl Lady's avatarViv Drewa - The Owl Lady

jj

Interview questions:

  • Did you pick your genre or did it pick you?

I think it picked me. The story came out of nowhere and scared me but I just had to put it down to get it out of my head.

  • Do you write in multiple genres or just one?

I write in multiple genres and like to mix things up.

  • How much time do you devote to writing per day?

I try to write in some way every day either blogging, answering emails or working on my stories. I sometimes work on all the above for so many hours that I forget to eat. My husband has to remind me and even cooks dinner to ensure that I do eat. Bless him!

  • What have you published so far?

I have five children’s books published and one novel. I plan on publishing another children’s story this year and two more…
